Cake Poker is an online poker room that has been growing at a steady rate since opening up in 2005 and they have a solid network. With Cake Poker opening in 2005 it was pretty late to be able to make a huge impact on the industry, but with some unique offerings to players they have managed to become one of the growing networks to watch out for. Cake Poker runs a very unique gold card program which over time can earn loyal players in excess of $50,000USD. The traffic isn’t very large in the poker room yet, but there is quite a bit of action that you’ll find during most hours and I’m sure it will grow with time. Cake Poker is also one of the only poker rooms accepting US players right now so I expect this to help the traffic grow faster then expected.

Cake Poker has a nice bonus program for there new players who make a deposit into the poker room. Cake Poker also runs a unique loyalty program where you earn gold chips for playing which can be redeemed for cash later on.

Software

Cake Poker uses there own software suite and some poker rooms have been switching to this same software which has helped the Cake Poker Network grow. The software allows players to choose from a selection of 3D avatars which you can use as your player image at the poker tables. The navigation of the poker room lobby at Cake Poker is simple to understand and they offer some great filters to make searching easier for the player. Even with the heavy loading graphics the poker room runs exceptionally fast and you shouldn’t experience any lag on the Cake Poker servers.

Games

Since there isn’t very much traffic playing on Cake Poker yet they haven’t added many poker games to there poker room because there wouldn’t be enough action. Instead Cake Poker focuses on a few poker games and the action is decent in them all, although most players play Holdem. Games are available on Cake Poker in all limits and a variety of stakes although not many high stake players use the room. Cake Poker currently offers Texas Holdem, Omaha, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo and Omaha Hi/Lo. Cake Poker also has spent time ensuring that there tournaments are well advertised and filled with players. You will find great satellite events, freeroll tournaments and guaranteed prize pool tournaments in the Cake Poker lobby on a daily basis.

Traffic

Traffic isn’t very good at Cake Poker quite yet, but they have been growing each and every year since opening. As of January 09 Cake Poker had roughly 2500 players during peak hours playing for real money.

Player Support

Cake Poker has email support available for all there players 24/7 and since the traffic is low there is no need for any other options yet. Emails are answered very fast since they don’t get too many of them and I haven’t read any complaints about the support anywhere yet.
