Poker Stars is easily the largest online poker room right now and has been for years. They have a massive player base which is very active and you’ll never not be able to find a poker game going on in the Poker Stars poker room. Over the years I’ve been a loyal player on Poker Stars and have played here more then any other poker room out there. I like playing with Poker Stars because of the traffic, but also because I know my information is safe with this poker room and that they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. The newer poker rooms that open, you can never be sure how long they’ll stay open and this is something I don’t like having to worry about. If you want to play in a poker room with tons of experience and with a poker room that isn’t going to leave then Poker Stars is a great choice.
Bonus
Poker Stars offers a small bonus for new players, but they make up for this in there loyalty program with some of the best prize packages I’ve ever seen. You earn player points every time you play poker at Poker Stars and once you earn enough you can use them to redeem prizes.
Software
The team at Poker Stars created there own poker software with there in-house development team and therefore they don’t need to rely on a poker room software provider. They also don’t need to be apart of any poker network which they have seemed to prefer. Poker Stars offers some of the best features such as the ability to play 24 poker games at once, plus you can resize the tables to your preference. You can also view your stats when playing and history of past hands. The graphics aren’t the best, but they need to be skimpy on the graphics due to the amount of players who use the software at one time. With heavy loading graphics or avatars Poker Stars would have massive connection problems. They already have some issues with connections and don’t need anymore problems.
Games
If you try to find an online poker room with more poker games then Poker Stars you’ll quickly notice that it can’t be done. Some poker rooms come close, but no other poker room offers as many games as Poker Stars does as of right now. Games vary in stakes from micro levels to higher levels although the higher stakes action isn’t as packed as the lower stakes. Most games are available in no limit, pot limit and fixed limit so you’ll be able to choose your preference. The games you can play consist of Texas Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo, H.O.R.S.E., H.O.S.E., Five Card Draw, Razz, Badugi, 2-7 Triple Draw, 2-7 Single Draw, 8-Game, Mixed Holdem and Mixed Omaha. As you can see the game selection is massive on Poker Stars and you have tons of options to choose from.
Traffic
Poker Stars deals with massive amounts of poker players on a daily basis and during peak hours you’ll find well over 100,000 players playing for real money. No other poker room can come close to this amount of traffic.
Player Support
Poker Stars uses email for all there support which isn’t that great since there such a big poker room, but I’ve never had a problem getting a timely response.
